Dangers - Anger

I slept on this band for a while and even missed them at a recent Soul Control show but these guys fuckin rule. To me they sound a little like Last Lights but much more quirky. They hail from LA and in my opinion are the only good band to come out of the area in a long time. Check them out you won't be dissapointed.

Seahawk - Demo

This is another Virginia Beach band, members of Revenge Therapy, Psycho 78, The Next Best Thing, Cutback, etc. Whenever I hear them I think of Texas is the Reason with maybe a little pop punk lean. I can't wait for them to properly record, because this shit is so much heavier live.

Ability - Expired

Ability hail from Carpinteria, CA. Their sound can be compared to early rev hardcore. Thanks to Berti for hooking me up with this 7" and introducing me to this band.

Revenge Therapy - Discography

Revenge Therapy

Revenge Therapy were from Virginia Beach, and were active from 2001 to 2003 or 2004, I can't remember. Members of I Am The Avalanche, Project 208, Seahawk, and a bunch of other VB bands. Melodic hardcore with some heavy breakdowns thrown in, similar to Kid Dynamite. The last track, "The Importance of Failure", is one of my top five favorite songs ever. They used to do a sweet Unbroken cover live as well. For fans of Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, and Fastbreak.

Here are a couple of clips from their "reunion" show at the end of 2007.

Texas Is The Reason - Do You Know Who You Are?

One of my top five albums of all time this record is a post hardcore masterpiece. Back and to the Left is quite possibly the best song ever. Heavy guitars layered with awesome melodies this album is amazing.

Tigers Jaw - S/T

One of the BEST bands to come out in the last couple of years. Every track on this album is a gem and just always puts me in a good mood. I would compare them to early Get Up Kids with maybe even a little bit of Belle and Sebastian thrown in there due to the keyboards and backing female vocals. Check this band out you won't be disappointed. I will be posting their new 7" pretty soon too.

Samiam - Astray

An amazing album by Samiam that I've loved since I was in high school. This album has a great sound with a lot of heavy guitars intermingled with softer tracks. Mud Hill is a perfect example of this dynamic. Extremely intelligent lyrics combined heavy post hardcore guitars, get into it.

Jawbreaker - Dear You

My favorite album by Jawbreaker with 24 Hour Revenge Therapy coming in a close second. This album is essential to any collection. Blake Schwarzenbach is one of the most brilliant lyricists of all time. The sound is somewhere between 24 Hour Revenge Therapy and the heavier Jets to Brazil stuff.
